Card Catalogs

I'm trying to think of ideas for the sign in/program table and the escort card table. I've always loved vintage card catalogs. We could open drawers where the programs can be tucked in and others where flowers and moss could be flowing out of.

Ebay and Craigslist have some options but it'll take some scouring to find the perfect one. Instead of renting one, we could use the card catalog afterwards in our home too!

Wedding Toppers

Laura Alane has the cutest wedding toppers that I'm in love with. Check them out! I really love the design of this first cake. Very modern and whimsical.

I love this cake too for its simplicity. It looks like it's a simple cake from Vanilla Bakeshop with the Laura Alane topper. I like this idea along with a dessert bar.

Romantic evening light

We're still trying to figure out what kind of lighting package we're going to need. The site already has dripping lights and uplights in many of the trees. We have a quote from The Lighter Side but will probably try to get a few more. Here's some pictures from other weddings at Saddlerock.

I love this lighting package. Just gorgeous!

Cocktail Hour Games

Yams has a horseshoe set which we thought would be a fun game to have during the cocktail hour, especially because there are 3 horses roaming right around the cocktail hour area.

This photo of a giant Jenga is pretty funny!

Dessert Bars

We're thinking of having a dessert station at the end of the evening. How cute are these little dessert cake lollipops and candy jars?!

Cocktail Hour Ideas

We're going to have about 3-4 high cocktail tables during the cocktail hour. I like how this one is done.

Cool Fabric Backdrops

This couple was able to build a fabric stand that allowed for more than one backdrop. What a great idea!

Here's some examples of how a fabric backdrop looks. I love how the first one utilizes the tree above and adds texture with the white round lanterns.

I like the idea of using frames as props like they do here.

I love the simple way this backdrop is hung with clothespins.

Unique Ideas - Cigar Roller

We're trying to think of ways to make our wedding unique. Yams saw a cigar roller on TV last night and loved the idea. I did a quick google search and found 2nd Street Cigar in Downtown LA. The company is run by the son of the former owner of the famous La Plata Cigars. I don't know how many of our friends actually smoke cigars though so it may not be a hit.

Getting Glammed Up

Last week I stumbled upon makeup artist Kelly Zhang via a blog from Weddingbee. I want to schedule a trial to see if I should book her. Waiting for a special occassion so that I can make use out of the trial. Maybe my birthday in a couple months?

Lovely cake.

Simple and pretty.

DIY Customized Sparklers and Matchboxes

Very cool idea! Twig and Thistle has this great idea for sprucing up sparklers for the grand exit. They also have a bunch of other great DIY ideas. Check out their Etsy Store.
